Ruffian

Hey Guys,

I know it is kind of late but that is in keeping with this post. I did a painting for today.
Specific.
Today was the anniversary of Ruffian's death, who is Ruffian? An amazing filly racehorse. She was the fastest filly, nay racehorse ever. (get it Nay?)

Joking aside she was one awesome horse and today is the anniversary of the day she broke down in her match race against Foolish pleasure. So to celebrate this amazing horse and her life I painted a picture. I made it pretty not dynamic.

I don't have much to say after that long nonsense so here.

I had been working and painting like a maniac before I left Milwaukee but alas the move has destroyed me so far. I haven`t done anything since I got back. I also hit an origami kick too. So here are the results.

Not my best of the two but I have a cheeseasaurus rex here for you to enjoy. Its a 1942 war poster for mac and cheese. World war two is what made mac a cheese what it is today, it was cheap easy and went far (so long as you didn't like your kids too well).

So here is rex with the slogan of the nineteen forties! I wish it were still nineteen cents!

Catch it and RUN FOR YOUR LIFE

Thats the name of the book I have been working on... sort of. Its Catch it and Run an ojibwe tale. So I thought I would post some of my paintings.

So there they are in order. The story is about how the coyote hatched a brilliant plan to bring fire to the cold and starving ojibwe people. He enlisted the help of a few willing other animals and managed to do it.

The illustrations are mine but the story is not.

So like I have been telling you all (and made public by the rainbow carnage on the illustration floor) I am now an origami artist... YIKES! So check out  my recent crowning glory (other than all the dragons)

Also due to recent developments now made real by the childhood game known as M.A.S.H, I will be marrying Freddie Mercury, have a pet fairy penguin (obviously from the video 'I'm going slightly mad') and will be driving a flat grey hovercraft.
